On June 11, 2025, Dr. Supranee Sithikan, Dean of Boromarajonani College of Nursing Nakhon Phanom (BCNN), Nakhon Phanom University, assigned Asst. Prof. Phayom Sinthushiri, Associate Dean for Academic Services and Social Engagement, to preside over the opening ceremony of the extracurricular enrichment activity for the 16th cohort of the Practical Nurse Certificate Program. The activity was held in Classroom 2A, Building 1, at BCNN Nakhon Phanom.
The morning session featured a hands-on workshop led by Mr. Wuttikorn Praphatsarang, Audiovisual Specialist, and Mr. Thanapon Thamikarnon, Computer Specialist, who delivered lectures on “Technology Skills for Professional Practice” and “Learning in the Digital Age.” The content focused on applying information technology in everyday life and academic learning, including the use of design software like Canva, NPU Mail (the university’s email system), and Microsoft 365. These tools help students perform their tasks efficiently, communicate systematically, and adapt to the healthcare service context.
In the afternoon, students attended lectures on “Medical and Nursing Terminology” and “English for Communication in the Practical Nurse Certificate Program” by Mr. David England, an English language expert. He provided essential vocabulary and communication techniques for interacting with patients, emphasizing the importance of using precise and accurate terminology.
Toward the end of the program, students had the opportunity to engage in discussions, ask questions, and reflect on their learning experiences with the speakers in a close and interactive setting. This created a vibrant learning atmosphere and inspired students to pursue continuous self-improvement.
This activity reflects BCNN Nakhon Phanom’s commitment to promoting active learning and integrating diverse skill sets to prepare students academically, professionally, and with the competencies needed to work effectively in a rapidly evolving healthcare system—laying a solid foundation for future health professionals.
